cosmovision: the ultimate song contest
eurovision is the annual european song contest and is considered as the best ever european tv show for over 50 years now (see more at www.eurovision.tv)
cosmovision is the idea of making the first ever annual world song contest (cosmo in greek means world)
cosmovision will be also a live broadcasting tv show and the judges of course will be the tv-viewers of each country watching it by voting through sms and telephone calls.
cosmovision members will be every national tv station (one from each country) that willing to participate to this contest.
each member will be responsible to organize its national contest and elects its own contestant.
imaging for example the american song contest (how does usa elect its own contestant to participate in cosmovision).
in american song contest its us state participipate with its own song (this presupposes local qualifyings, for each state). two semifinals will be organised, in two different days.
with a draw will be determined which state will participate in which semifinal. its semifinal has 25 states and from each semifinal 10 states will be qualified. so, the final of the american song contest will have at least 20 states.
the tv-viewers will vote for their favourite song with telephone calls or sms and they cannot vote for theirs state song.
the voting system will be an adaptation of the Borda count. That means, each state award a set of points from 1 to 8, then 10 and finally 12 to other songs in the competition — with the favourite song being awarded 12 points.
